Denmark closing down its borders

At of Saturday the 14. of march 2020 at 12 pm, Denmark will shut down the borders preventing foreigners further spread of Coronavirus.

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen (the Social Democrats) announced this at a press conference late Friday night

The government is setting the military to guard the border. No one will be allowed into the country for any valid reason.

The border closure is a temporary measure until 13 April.

Air, ferry and train transport to Denmark will be greatly reduced or shut down completely.

Only people with so-called commendable purpose – such as people who work or live in the country – will be locked in.

The closing of borders due to the number of people infected with Corona in Denmark has reached 801 people, of which 21 admitted to intensive care units in hospitals throughout the country.
